Traversing Through Dust

Traversing Through Dust at night with green lasers
Traversing Through Dust explores the tension between monumental human creations and the unsettling forces they embody, presenting an ominous reflection on ambition and its shadow.

This 30-foot-tall, 140-foot-long semicircular steel suspension bridge looms over its surroundings, its eerie, pulsating lights imbuing the structure with a sense of foreboding vitality.

The installation’s massive, looming presence combined with its lifelike and unsettling lighting creates an atmosphere of awe and a profound sense of foreboding, leaving viewers to reflect on humanity’s capacity to inspire both wonder and unease.

This project was created by Ramiro Martinez and the MATH Collective (Martinez, Anderson, Timms, Hoffoss). Diane was the Lighting Artist and Electronics Co-Lead for this project
